Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Petagon Technologies Inc. ("Petagon", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Petagon (the "Service"). We comply with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

1. Who we are

Petagon Technologies Inc. is the personal information controller. For any privacy concern or to exercise your rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at petagon.ph@gmail.com.

To create and manage your account and your dog's profile; to generate the Petagon ID, QR passport, and Petagon readiness score; to provide verification and gate check-in to participating venues; to operate the pet-friendly places directory; to send you service and reminder notifications; to keep the Service safe and prevent abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Lawful basis

We process your information based on your consent, the performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with law. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 9).

5. Information shown publicly

To enable verification, a dog's public passport (Petagon ID, name, breed, vaccination status, Petagon score and access verdict) is viewable by anyone who scans its QR code. Your personal contact details (phone, email, address) are never shown on the public passport. Directory listings are also public. By using the Service you consent to this public display of the dog profile information described above.

6. Sharing and processors

We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) for hosting, authentication, and database services; it processes data on our behalf. We share a dog's verification status with venues when you check in. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Cookies & analytics. We use a cookie to keep you signed in. With your consent (via the cookie banner), we use Google Analytics for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the Service. Declining analytics does not affect core features.

7. Cross-border transfer

Our processors (e.g., Google) may store and process data on servers outside the Philippines. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers have a comparable level of protection consistent with RA 10173.

8. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for any period required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

9. Your rights

Under RA 10173 you have the right to be informed, to access, to correct (rectify), to erase or block, to object to processing, to data portability, to damages, and to file a complaint with the NPC. To exercise any right, email petagon.ph@gmail.com. You may also withdraw consent, after which we will stop the relevant processing (this may limit your ability to use the Service).

10. Security

We use organizational, physical, and technical measures (including access controls and encryption in transit) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address vulnerabilities promptly.

11. Data breaches

In the event of a personal data breach that meets the notification criteria, we will notify the NPC and affected data subjects in accordance with RA 10173 and NPC rules.

12. Children

The Service is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
